Iker Casillas



Iker Casillas Fernandez was born in Mostoles more specifically in Madrid on May 29, 1981 is a former Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was a full international with Spain from 2000 to 2016 and captain from 2006 to 2016. From 2019 to 2020, due to an acute myocardial infarction he was part of the coaching staff of Futebol Clube do Porto, as a precautionary measure in his recovery until his retirement in August 2020.

He developed most of his sporting career at Real Madrid Club de Fútbol, first in its youth categories and from 1999 to 2015 in the first team, holding the captaincy between 2010 and 2015. He is the second player with the most appearances in the club's history, with a total of 725, behind Raúl González with 741.

He was a full international with Spain from 2000 to 2016, and captain for ten since 2006. He is the Spanish international with the most caps in history and the seventh in the world with 167. He captained his national team to become two-time European champion (2008, 2012) and World Champion (2010), thus achieving the first "treble" of national teams.
