The Start of Iker Casillas

Now we will start from the beginning of his story. Iker Casillas Fernandez practiced to be better at soccer level, in the lower categories of Real Madrid, in whose prebenjamin team (a category of soccer) began to play in the 1990/91 season.

He was called up for the first time to the first team, when he was only 16 years old and already playing in the Juvenil A, for the Champions League match on November 27, 1997, the fifth game on the way to "La Séptima", against Rosenborg (a Norwegian team) in Norway.

Real Madrid contacted Iker's high school principal to inform him of his call-up, which was due to the absence of Illgner and Contreras, with Santiago Cañizares as the starting goalkeeper for that match.
