Iker Casillas retired at the age of 39 due to a heart attack he suffered in On May 1, 2019, Iker Casillas suffered a myocardial infarction. It paralyzed the whole sport in Spain and Portugal, which was on tenterhooks to know more about his health condition. Fortunately he was able to recover, but since then he has had to stay away from the field of play.
